Roby-D is basically a sound lover. Roby-D – stage name of Roberto Di Gangi – was born in Pisa, Tuscany, in 1981, a land with a strong electronic tradition and falls immediately in love with the music starting to collect 45s and pretty soon, in the mid 90s, he began performing as a dj.
Seduced by the innovation of progressive and techno, he arrives quickly on the underground scene. During that time its macro-genre of reference is techno, in particular at 90 bpm, which makes him known and allows him to perform in the main clubs of the area. During the 2000s, with the transformation of techno from “industrial” to “minimal”, Roby-D matures a growing attraction for house sonority and begins to propose a style that blends essentially deep and tech with strong shades and recurrent techno contaminations, which has become his trademark over time.
Sound research and the care of live performances have always been the focus of the artistic project and lead him to participate actively as resident at ONOFF, Rememories, Floating and many other events in Tuscany and beyond.
His background ranging from disco to techno, the spirit of continuous research and strong focus on the international club scene means that every Roby-D’s dj set is absolutely kaleidoscopic and never the same.
