Galestian is taking listeners on a spiritual journey with his new EP, A Warm Place, out 3rd February on his label imprint Global Entry Recordings.
The LA-born and Berlin-based melodic house and techno producer is an avid traveler whose spiritual and melodic influences span the globe, from the jungles of Bali through East Asia and the mountains of the Caucasus.
A Warm Place is no different. An enchanting and other-worldly collection, the three-track EP sees Galestian inviting the listener to face life’s many unknowns with a sense of hope and optimism.
Opening track ‘A Warm Place’ is an original vocal production, taking its inspiration from the desert sunrises of Nevada’s Burning Man event. Full of tribal rhythms, chiming bells and an enchanting vocal, the song is an open call to expand beyond the limitations of the mind. ‘Inner Child’ continues the journey with the scattered laughter of Galestian’s eldest nephew, sampled when he was only two years old. A frenetic and blissfully upbeat house track, it exudes the innocence and joy of a child. ‘Silver Lining’ sees Buddhist and Hindu influences coming to the fore as the artist finds meaning in the difficulties of life. Layered with analog synths and ethereal chants, the song is a mystical journey featuring ethnic instrumentation from around the world, inspired by Galestian’s travels through the jungles of Bali, the landscapes of Vietnam, and the mountains of the Caucasus.
Describing the EP, Galestian says: “I wrote this EP with the intention of breathing some hope and optimism into the world. There’s a spiritual concept called samsara, which is part of Buddhist and Hindu traditions, essentially stating that suffering is an integral part of life – that life is suffering. The belief is that if we can get beyond the attachments that keep us in a state of samsara, we can experience the ultimate liberation”.
Galestian is an LA-born and Berlin-based electronic music artist, whose recent releases have been supported by a wide range of international tastemakers including Nora En Pure, Nicole Moudaber, Joris Voorn, Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold, Benny Benassi, Gabriel & Dresden, Green Velvet, Paul Van Dyk, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and many others.
His diverse production repertoire includes collaborations with GRAMMY-nominated mainstays Paul Oakenfold and Capital Cities’ frontman Sebu, to drivers of the international progressive house and techno scenes such as Darin Epsilon, and remixes of his work by Olivier Giacomotto, Fur Coat, Matan Caspi, and Alex O’Rion. He has been commissioned for remixes by the likes of 2x Platinum recording artist VASSY as well as underground namesakes such as Airwave. His most recent Galestian Remixed compilation hit Beatport’s Top 10 release charts across 3 categories and also broke into the Overall Beatport Top 100.
In the several years Galestian has been active in the dance music industry, he has signed to Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Records, and last year he launched Global Entry Recordings and released head-turning tracks including ‘Hindsight’ featuring Sebu from Capital Cities, followed up by 2022’s ‘One’ featuring Denitia.
With A Warm Place, the genre-crossing producer continues to garner club and radio support all over the world with his enlightening take on electronic music.
